Can the methodology of this case study be applied for all the territory of the Azores and for calculating a wider range of ES?
Yes, as far as the baseline information – especially a reliable and accurate land-cover/land-use map - is available. InVEST models require different baseline information for each type of ecosystem service to be modelled. This means that as far as the information is available for the whole archipelago, the methodology can be extended. It will be needed, however, to confirm if differences between islands require slight adaptations on the input information to be used in InVEST models.
