In the Azores, the future revision procedures of the existing strategic Sectorial Plans (e.g. Water Resources, Natura 2000, Tourism, Raw Materials, Emergency and Civil Protection, and Marine Spatial Planning) and Special Planning Plans (e.g. coastline, hydrographic basins and lagoons), in which the understanding and exploration of the ecosystem service’s concept is nuclear, might especially benefit from the input of MAES methods and data.
