The concept of "ecosystem services" is difficult to understand by stakeholders and decision-makers. In this sense, which would be the best approach to communicate results from the MAES process? Should we stop the use of jargons when communicating MAES results from La Réunion?
Very well asked. I do think the use of jargon is needed more then ever - just not only scientific big words. Rather, we need to listen to the people, how they talk about their ecosystems. Local people often know very well how they benefit from ecosystems, they just cannot communicate it in terms of international common classifications of ecosystem services or natural capital or such.
