The University of Trento was founded in 1962 and has always aimed at building alliance and reciprocal efficiency with Italian and foreign institutions and organizations. There are more than 16,000 students, about 600 professors and researchers and the same number of technical and administrative staff: these numbers indicate that the University can provide an ideal environment for study and research.
Planning for ecosystem services (PLANES) is one of the research areas of the Planning and Design for Sustainable Places Lab at DICAM, the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento. In PLANES, we are interested in using ecosystem services to improve real-life decisions, including project design, planning and policy-making. Current areas of work include ecosystem-based adaptation in cities, Nature-based solutions, Strategic Environmental Assessment, water infrastructures, and ecosystem services tradeoffs.
In the MOVE project, we are involved mainly in Activity 3 (Knowledge sharing) and Activity 5 (MAES Strategic Plan for the EU Overseas), and responsible for Task 3.3 (Electronic forum).
